Ecospeed SA is specialised in developing internet-based software tools for calculating energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions on both the personal as well as the regional level. Ecospeed also advises enterprises, non-profit organisations and public authorities in energy planning and information campaigns aimed at raising public awareness and inducing behavioural change.

Ecospeed offers a web based application to calculate the personal energy use and CO2 emission for free. In addition a ECO2 region is proffered which allows cities, regions or countries to calculate theirs energy use in total and in specific categories, e.g. mobility, nutritions, heating, etc.

Furthermore measures are suggested to reduce the energy needs.society: The Ecospeed Regio allows to analyse the energy use of a community. It helps to improve the efficiency of the energy use by defining the most effective measure.economy: In regard to emission certificate business and CO2 tax, the ECO2 calculator helps to reduce the costsenvironment: The CO2 calculator can help to analyse the greenhouse gas emission and with it to reduce them.

Users can define scenarios by varying regional population, workforce, floorspace and transportation (mileage) dynamics. Furthermore, increases in sectoral energy efficiencies can be defined and impacts calculated. This allows to simulate the impact of policy measures on regional energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

society/economy: The software ECO2-Regio allows to calculate regional energy consumptions and associated CO2 emissions. The size of the regions can be defined flexibly on the basis of the available data. Three different licences (smart, basic, plus) are available. Timescale cover the period 1990 to 2030individual/environment: The software ECO2-Privat calculates the annual personal energy consumption and associated CO2 emissions. In addition to the consumption of energy carriers (oil, gasoline, electricity, etc.) the energy embodied in the consumed goods and services, i.e. the energy required for producing the commodities (so-called grey energy), is also added to the personal budget
